Purpose of the Role:

Bandon Co-op is looking for a Mill / Production Operator to join our team at our Kinsale feed mill. This role would suit someone with experience in production, manufacturing, agricultural processing or machinery who is mechanically minded and comfortable using computerised systems.

The successful candidate will help ensure the mill operates safely, efficiently and consistently, supporting the production process from raw materials through to finished animal feed.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor the mill’s computerised production systems.
• Manage batching, mixing, pelleting and heat treatment processes.
• Monitor product quality, production targets and plant performance.
• Manage the movement and storage of raw materials and finished products.
• Carry out routine plant checks, basic maintenance and cleaning.
• Identify and report mechanical or production issues.
• Maintain accurate production and cleaning records.
• Follow all health & safety, quality, feed safety and traceability procedures.
• Assist with manual handling and general production duties as required.

Skills & Experience

• Experience in feed milling, food production, agricultural processing or a similar production environment.
• Experience using computerised process or production systems.
• Good mechanical aptitude and basic maintenance skills.
• Strong health & safety awareness.
• Good attention to detail and record keeping.
• Reliable and able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work overtime during busy periods.
• Forklift or loader experience is an advantage.

Working Arrangements and Package

• Permanent, full-time position.
• Guaranteed minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Day shifts only. No night shifts.
• Typical start time of 6:00am or 7:00am depending on seasonal production requirements.
• Overtime is available during busy periods and paid at time and a half.
• Weekly performance-related bonus linked to production targets and KPIs.
