Choose the right plants:
- The choice you make is vital to the quality of the potato. Choose the
european agricultural mark that aligns with EU organic farming
standards. - If it hasnt already been pre-germed, leave in direct sunlight for 6 to 8
weeks before the intended planting date.
Choose the right variety:
- The selection is vast. Make your choice between early and late
flowering, soft or firm flesh, red or yellow skin, old or new. European
agricultural specific varieties are avaialbe so make sure to choose
which varitety suits you best.
Planting instructions:
- Plant your bulbs in well dried out soil that sits at >9˚C and that
have not had potoatoes planted in at least 3 years. - 2 to 3 months before the intended planting date, place, your organic
fertaliser, that you will have broken up, if needed, and place a bed of
straw around 20cm thick. - To plant, move the staw to one side to allow you dig at least 2
furrows. Plant your seeds a 50cm intervals diagonaly as to not have
seeds directly at the left or right of it. Cover up the potatoes and place
the straw ontop. - During the vegetative stage of the plant, apply Bordeaux mixture
every 7 days (maximum 6g/ 10m²). - At its mature stage when the leaves start to turn yellow, remove
the straw to remove your potatoes.
Storing instructions:
- To keep your potatoes as long as possible, store in a ventilated, cool
and dry area away from direct sunlight.
