Notes
- Mycorrhizal Fungi are widespread throughout nature
- They are fundamental in normal plant growth & development
- Over 90% of all plants associate with these organisms
- They allow sustained nutrient uptake & water supply
- After applying to the soil, the fungi in rootgrow begin to colonise the plant's roots
- They extend the plant's root system into the surrounding soil via an extensive network of fungal filaments
- Up to 20 metres
- These thread-like filaments extract nutrients & water from the soil & exchange them for carbon in the plant
