PUSHING THE BOUNDARIES OF COLOUR IN YOUR HOME

PUSHING THE BOUNDARIES OF COLOUR IN YOUR HOME

PUSHING THE BOUNDARIES OF COLOUR IN YOUR HOME

Colour can change the way we look at our home, interaction with different spaces and the feeling you get when entering your rooms. Inspiration for colour can come from the most unexpected source.

The exceptional dry, cold Autumn has given us an array of colour in foliage and late blooms.  The rich yellow/orange/red tones of the last months of the year can warm the cockles of the heart. Plants are taking their rest as must we.  Think about taking inspiration from natures colour palette for cosy, intimate winter evenings.

Paint is an inexpensive way to bring change to your home.  Think of deeper colours for impact and drama.  Autumnal tones bring warmth and cheer to any space in the home.

Use Dulux Urbanite with detail of Super Split for a dramatic look. Team with a mix of geometric shapes and vibrant colours for a contemporary finish, or, for the more luxurious look, use it on panel walls. Blend additional colours across throws, cushions, rugs and accessories to create a stunning look.

The frost has truly taken grip and brings a rare beauty to the landscape. These berries and blooms of purples, pinks, and blues inspire mood setting dining rooms. Use deep purple on walls and accessorise with golds for the ultimate feeling of luxury. Set the mood with a log fire and candles for long winter evenings of entertaining.

Taking a new approach to the application of colour in your room can change the look and feel of the space..  Think of all over colour, working across walls and wood surfaces with one colour. Traditionally skirting, architrave and doors were  painted in lighter tones but by rethinking these textured surfaces and using them as part of the overall canvas one can create a sleek classic, dynamic  look.

This approach works particularly well with panel walls.
